Trade Me Find: CA18DET swapped Toyota Starlet

Today's Trade Me Find is something quite different. Now we've all heard of people swapping Japanese engines into other Japanese cars such as the numerous JZ and RB swaps that are so prevalent today, but this Starlet is fitted with a CA18DET engine which is commonly found in Nissan 180SX's. Although this is not the first CA18 swapped Starlet, the conversion is not common as most people commonly swap 4AGE's or other Toyota engines into them.

The engine is matched to it's factory five speed with a Mitsubishi Starion rear end and a Mitsubishi Lancer EX LSD. The engine features ARP rods, upgraded crank, upgraded head studs, bigger valve springs and a Garrett GT28 turbocharger. Both the front and rear ends are fully rose jointed with TRD adjustable shocks in the rear.

The car also has two racing seats with harnesses and comes with a logbook. The Starlet looks great in it's silver and blue colour scheme with TRD N2 body kit. It is also quite quick and does 1:34's around Ruapuna. The Starlet also has some race history and has competed in events hosted by the Canterbury car club. The car is in Canterbury and has a current asking price of $13,500 and this includes a single axle trailer to tow the car with.

Overall, this little Starlet is an awesome little car and must be great fun on the track. You can check out the listing by clicking here.
