Car Review: The Road Rat

If there is one car in the world that defines "Home Built", the Road Rat is that car. This amazing little car was home built in a shed by Brian Worboys and although it shares some components with the humble Volkswagen Beetle, it is unlike anything else on the road.

The level of craftsmanship in the Road Rat is amazing. The car was built from a custom made tubular chassis and the car took a painstaking 7 years to complete. The wait was totally worth it though as this is one totally awesome little car that handles really well. The Road Rat is powered by a 2175cc Volkswagen flat four which provides adequate power to make the Road Rat quite a quick little car.

The interior is quite spartan but that is all part of keeping the cars weight down at around 585 KG. The car looks like a fighter plane from the inside which adds to the cars cool factor.

Brian likes entering his car in track days and club events and it always stand out from everything else on track. The Road Rat always brings a smile to peoples faces wherever it goes as it is such a neat, well built little car.

Overall, the Road Rat is a great little car and is one of a kind. I would like to thank Brian Worboys for allowing me to review his Road Rat.

Thanks for reading and stay tuned for more car reviews!!!
