Car Review: J.D Customs Nissan Skyline Drift Car

This weeks car review is of an awesome Nissan Skyline Drift car, piloted and owned by James Goddard.

James started building this Skyline after seeing it sit in a shed for a while and thought he would build a drift car out of it. James had built other Skyline's previously and is a fan of the cars.

The Skyline runs an RB25DET straight six with a large aftermarket turbo, high flow injectors, a large Fenix radiator, custom exhaust system and a Link G4 ECU plus other numerous mods. The car was also tuned by EFi and Turbo in Palmerston North and develops a healthy 504 BHP and 499 NM of torque - both at the wheels. The engine is backed up to a five speed RB20DET gearbox which James is surprised hasn't blown up yet, which is linked to a 4.3:1 locked diff. The clutch is a six puk item from MP Auto Parts and is holding up well to the extremes of drifting.

Inside, the car features a custom metal dashboard comprising of solid sheet metal with an aftermarket tacho and the factory skyline speedo. Also present are pillar mounted pod gauges which look awesome, deep dish steering wheel, Nismo shift knob and hydraulic handbrake. Seats are super supportive KW racing seats which hold you tightly in place.

The Skyline features a full roll cage which looks great painted in light green. It's a great colour match for the black body.

Mounted in the boot is a safety cell fuel tank and a custom made swirl tank to prevent oil starvation. This setup looks pretty cool with all the braided oil lines and smooth welds.

The rear tail lights look particularly evil and are styled to look like angry eyes.

Wheels are A tech monoblock's and are shod with 225/45/ZR15 tyre's. The brakes are M Spec R32 brakes and the suspension is fully adjustable.

Overall, this Skyline is an awesome drift car that is built to drift reliably. I would like to thank James Goddard for allowing me to review his drift weapon. Below is a sound check of the Skyline's awesome RB25DET engine.

Sounds cool doesn't it? Stay tuned for more awesome car stuff and car reviews.

Thanks for reading!!!
