Welcome to another article of Trade Me Finds. This time, we feature a really nicely presented and built Datsun 260Z.
The car is painted in a very clean and classically styled blue and silver two tone with black mesh wheels which suits the car perfectly in our opinion.
The Z is powered by the legendary L26 straight 6 which is known for being more refined than the 240Z's L24. This one has had a 3.1 Litre stroker kit fitted along with new rings, bearings, winged sump, alloy radiator and a set of extractors. The head has been modified by Reg Cook with a different cam, valves and intake manifold with 3 Weber 45 carburettors.
With all this power, brakes were upgraded to bigger items and handling is sorted with adjustable front arms, CV axles and an S15 Silvia diff.
The interior is fitted with a nice set of bucket seats and harnesses, a classic style steering wheel and a protective dashboard mat.
Overall, this Datto would be one hell of a head turner and an awesome weapon on the track. The seller is asking $35,000 which is pretty reasonable considering the rapid appreciation of classic Japanese cars and the amount of time and money invested in this build. The car is located in Wanganui.
We have been rather slack on any developments done to our project Mini recently and thought we would bring you all up to speed. So far, progress has pretty much stalled as we are waiting for a whole new floor pan, boot and other minor bodywork pieces plus a complete wiring loom. Luckily for us, we have pretty much everything else so once we get those key parts, everything else should go smooth as silk (yeah right!).
The Mini also requires rust repairs on certain panels such as the roof gutters and sills plus some minor panel work to make sure every panel is straight.

This sunday is the fabulous Port Road Street Sprint event where 50 cars take to the street in Seaview to try and post the fastest time. Unfortunately, we were not able to race this time due to suspension problems in our borrowed car and Project Whizbox is still nowhere near completion.
Although the event is pretty much a non spectator event, you can still come and have a look at the variety of cars parked in the pits, which range from modified road cars to fully blown race cars and even drift cars!
Welcome back folks! After a couple weeks of well earned rest we are back and ready to roll. Over the holiday period, we decided to give "the most simulative car building game" called My Summer Car a go. Nothing could prepare us for the weird and downright crazy nature of the game (which is set in Finland, the rally capital of the world).
So far, we have managed to assemble the whole engine, gearbox, suspension, braking system and cooling system which is a start but the little Datsun Cherry clone, which is named "Satsuma" in the game, is still nowhere near completed.
When you first get the car, it is a heavily rusted shell with all the parts required to build it laid out on shelves in your garage. Luckily, you have an inspection pit which aids in working under the vehicle.
Helping you survive are your trusty workhorses, a blue work van, a tractor and a sewage truck. To earn money you must complete various jobs all over the map such as picking up drunk guys and pumping sewage. You must also eat, drink and go to the toilet and to survive you have to either drive one of your vehicles or take a boat to a little shop called Teimon Kauppa where you buy food, drink and petrol.
One of the more fun things to do in the game is drink beer. Lots and lots of beer. If you drink roughly three crates of beer, you pass out and wake up in a random place, which can get a bit frustrating.

I know this ones been around for a while but I couldn't help sharing it :) A Mazda RX4 with a 6 Rotor engine that is the first of its kind in the world and delivers a whopping 800 BHP!
Yes you read that right, a Ford Sierra with a V8. I couldn't believe it myself when I saw the listing "Ford Sierra XR8" pop up while on Trade Me but it is legitimately real.
For those of you who don't live in New Zealand or Australia, we have a car called the Ford Falcon XR8 which is a popular V8 sedan. The XR8 naming that is on the Sierra XR8 was probably transferred from the Falcon XR8 as it is also V8 powered.
The Sierra XR8 is powered by a 302 CU IN V8 that breathes through a 750 CFM Holley Carburettor and is backed up to a 5 speed manual T5 gearbox. This engine produces around 300 BHP which is quite a decent amount for a relatively light car.
This particular car is #72 of 250 produced meaning it is very rare and is a homologation model for the Group 1 racing series
The interior appears original and very clean. The car appears to be well looked after inside and out and would be a great investment opportunity. The car is currently for sale on Trade Me for $35,000 and you can visit the Trade Me listing by clicking here.
